Thoughts and prayers with the family of Hamza Hidayathullah

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Hamza Hidayathullah on Sunday 3rd May 2026.

إنا لله وانا إليه راجعون

اللهم اغفر له وارحمه

Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.

May Allah forgive him, have mercy upon him, grant him salvation, and pardon his shortcomings.

Hamza Hidayathullah was a dedicated referee, the founder and Chairman of Sri Lions Sports Club Oman, and was an Executive Director of Sri Lanka Rugby

He was a passionate advocate for the growth and development of rugby, both on and off the field. Through his leadership, commitment, and service, he made a lasting contribution to the sport and inspired countless players, officials, and supporters within the community.

His loss is deeply felt across the rugby fraternity and beyond.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
